As you can see from the above, we are able to glaze many different frame shapes covering virtually any pleasure craft. We fit clear 6.4mm laminated safety glass and 4mm clear and obscure glass as standard, but if your frame is glazed with obscure 6.4mm laminated glass, any toughened glass, or the frame is a shape not detailed above, the glass will have to be specially ordered for you. Areas covered

 

Although we cover almost all of the inland waterways within a 50 mile or so range of our base, in order for us to carry out our work effectively, we need to be able to bring our van as close to your craft as possible. If you are somewhere in the countryside, we ask that you moor your boat near to a road or bridge in order to provide an access point. Even better, if you can get the post-code from an adjacent property, that will really help our staff in locating you .

It does not matter whether your boat is in or out of the water, call us anytime for prompt service.

 

Charges

We do not charge anything for the call out, but we do have a minimum glass charge of one square metre. All glass and labour charges stay the same during the day, night-time and even over a week-end. The only time we charge extra is during a Bank or other Public Holiday. Our prices include the following work:

  • Travelling to meet you at your mooring
  • Removal of the frame
  • Preparation of the frame to receive new glass
  • Cutting and fitting the new glass
  • Re-fitting the frame
  • Re-sealing as required

We will always give you an approximate invoice price prior to coming out, but any figures we quote are always given subject to view.

Please note: In certain weather conditions, the sealants we use do not 'cure' properly. Therefore when the weather improves we will, at no extra charge, travel back to your boat to carry out any necessary remedial works.

 

Health and Safety

Our staff carry full PPE including RNLI approved life jackets, and undertake all work with due regard to current Health and Safety legislation. Because of this, we may not be able to carry out the work in certain weather conditions, for example fog, heavy rain, high winds, snow or ice .
